The University of Oklahoma broke ground on the Stephenson Cancer Center in 2008, a project that marked the state’s single largest public-private biomedical initiative in history. The building, located on the Oklahoma Health Sciences Center campus, officially opened in 2011 and created the only comprehensive cancer center in Oklahoma. Members of the Stephenson Cancer Center conduct innovative and nationally-funded cancer research in the basic, clinical, and population sciences.
